I would like to buy a pressure washer for personal use, BUT want something that has 2700 PSI or a little better AND decent volume of around 4 GPM. I need a recommend 2700 PSI at 4 GPM to apply (or I should say, remove) the aluminum brighten chemical on my diamond plate flat bed, plus the extra power might be nice to wash the house, etc. That seems to put me in the $1000 range or better.

I was looking at the Pressure-Pro models and they look good in the pictures, aluminum frame, no rust and you can get any flavor of power and pump you want, I am leaning toward CAT pumps and probably Honda power since I didn't see any Cummins powered models :)

I have also looked at the Northern Tool models, but I like the looks of the Pressure-Pro ones better.

Any experience with that brand?

Any other brand recommendations?

Costco has been selling Karcher 3000 psi, 4. 5 gpm (I think), 6 hp Honda engine for $370. 00.

I bought the same unit 3 months ago (same price), but it is 2650 gpm, same flow rate and engine. Very well built, and 2650 is ok, but I would take the 3000 instead if doing over.

Like most things at Costco, better hurry. That is a killer price. When I checked on-line, the best internet price on my unit was $500.

I saw those at Costco, BUT, I haven't read very favorable comments about Karcher in general. There is two versions of the Karcher at Costco, a 3000 PSI and a 4000 PSI, the 4000 PSI has the Honda commercial engine, the other is pretty much a throw away Honda engine, engine aside, the Karcher's use their own pump design and are hard to get fixed if something goes wrong, not an industry standard like AR, CAT, General, etc.

Still that is a VERY attractive price, and I may just get one at Costco.

My vote is for Karcher. AND... whatever you get... buy the removable quick tips. DO NOT get an adjustable tip. The individual tips have a far superior pattern. You can take a 2000 psi washer with a specific tip and out power a 3000 psi with an adjustable tip all day long. The patterns are sharp with the tips and the power is concentrated better.

I have a 2500 Karcher Honda 5HP and it is 2x as good as my former Generac 6. 5 HP Briggs 2800.

I got my Karcher off Sam's club auction site 3kpsi,2. 6gpm $125 for the washer, $150 for shipping from CA to FL.

I have an earlier version of this one NorthStar Electric Cold Water Pressure Washer — 2750 PSI, 2. 5 GPM, 230 Volt | Electric/Cold Water | Northern Tool + Equipment

It is and electric one. IT has cleaned everything you can think of. ALL of my drive ways concrete and asphalt, roof (composite) brick walkways and wood and composite decks.

The best part is it always starts and is very quiet. You do have to set up and electrical outlet, but that is it. It comes with a 220 GFI plug for safety reasons.

I believe mine is 2. 5gpm and 3000 psi.

Is that electric pump single phase or 3 phase? Wondering about running out of a residential garage? What kind of plug is required? Cost to have it wired?

To be honest, I like the idea of an electric washer, IF it has enough power, way less maintenance.

What specific motor does yours use and what CAT pump model? Often times the retailer will use a pump with a different rating (usually higher) than the pump manufacturer rates the same pump!

The aluminum cleaner I want to apply to my diamond plate "recommends" 2800 PSI and 4. 0 GPM for removal, BUT I am probably going to go with something less like 2500+ PSI and 3 GPM if I can find it in my budget range. The over 3000 PSI and 4. 0 GPM machines are all out of my price range.

Thanks for all the input, great stuff.

I wouldn't be looking for a cummins powered pressure washer. you'll prolly end up with a water jet that works better than the one on the Orange county choppers show they use to cut metal that takes forever. go with the honda its much weaker and your teenage kids wont have as much fun with it:-laf

I just bought the Dewalt 3750 from Home Depot ( $999) and it appears to be a very good unit ,, adjustable pressure to turn down if necessary, ble to clean most anything plus accessories are easily available
