Bought the little green o-ring for the top part of the delivery valve on the fuel pump for $2. 90. I am feeling pretty ripped off. Anybody have a price and a different place to buy the o-ring from? Bought it from a Bosch shop.

Thank you, Casey

That's the going price for those o-rings.

I got fed up with all the pump shops back home - they couldn't find the part #, or wouldn't sell me just the o-rings.

PDR has 'em - and I'll keep on buying them from there.

(They're not on the website. )

most good hydraulic repair and parts places have major selection of O rings. . should be able to buy at very low price

also look at bearing supply places. . some rural Napa dealers also have more farm related supplies and much better selections in the parts bins. .

heck that's less than a 1. 00 part at worst case. . IMHO [ BUT I've been wrong before :D ]

If you follow the high pressure fuel lines back from the injectors to where they attach to the pump, that is where the delivery valves are located.

I'd want an o-ring rated for diesel fuel. Normal o-rings will quickly deteriorate.

The o-ring is just to keep the dust out - but I've had 'em leak before and a new o-ring fixed it.

The o-rings get destroyed on install/removal... . which is why you can't re-use 'em.

The delivery valve holder is pretty much the top most part of your injection pump... . on '94 - '98. 4 2nd Gen trucks. It's where the injection lines connect to the pump. Underneath the delivery valve holders are the delivery valves..... underneath the delivery valves are the plungers/barrels.

Is this o ring something a 12v'r should keep around? I've messed with my engine alot and never touched that area. Can the o ring just break or is it because of a mod that it needed to be replaced?

If you ever plan on disturbing any of your delivery valve holders - then yes - keep a whole set of 6 or more in stock.

Even if you plan on only adjusting the timing - keep at least one or two in stock... ... . since you have to remove the #1 delivery valve holder and delivery valve assembly to measure plunger lift... .
