Price for 05 dually box

I need to replace the box on my 05 dually. :{ What should I expect to pay for a good box?

I've seen take-offs in brand new condition for $2500 or less.

There used to be a thriving industry in sale of them because many b0ught new pickups and had the bed removed to install flatbeds or contractor beds. Now, the smarter of those customers buy a C&C to start with.

I still see quite a few beds being taken off; I even do a few. There's a guy N of Decatur, Tx who specializes in just take off beds. It'd be Decatur or Alvord. I've had a couple that I've come across pretty reasonable, one was $300 w/o the gate, but had the lights and mudflaps. I sold it for $1300, kept the lights. Another I gave $800 trade in for a steel bed, sold it for $2300. I've got a white one right now, late '04, I'd sell for $1250, maybe less as it's got a rather large, square hole in the bed for a fold down knob, and I've already sold the tailgate off of it. It's rhino-lined, and I think I've got a set of lights to go with it, and I gave $1,000 trade in for a steel bed I installed. If I remember correctly, the exterior is almost perfect, for now(that's why it needs to go, before I run something into it!!) Other than that, I'd say try the wrecking yards, but I suggest looking at them in person. Down here, they go for $2500 and up, depending on their condition.

If you can get a hold of jelag, he has a fleet of 3500 Dodge duallies and he removes the bed to install flat beds. In talking to him one time, he said he had several beds at his shop. He may have sold his inventory since he closed his business.
