I just bought a new APPS from the dealer and it cost me $450. 90!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I am wondering about is maybe DC has upgraded the quality since the part number has gone through a number of revisions. The part number on the APPS I just purchased is 53031575-AH.

For those that have bought cheaper APPS, what was the associated cost and part number revision????

I just experianced the "dead pedal" for the 2nd time and threw a 230 code. I know my VP is on it's way out, but would reseting the APPS with a voltage meter help anything? FP is at 14 psi idle and it really sucks anywhere other than idle. I can't wit to get my FASS!

What I don't understand is what is the difference between an automatic APPS and manual APPS ??????

I bought an APPS off ebay and the seller didn't specify auto or manual. It works fine on my manual  The voltage is low (about . 37 instead of . 56) but it was $50. It's just to hold me over for now.

I bought mine at www.magauto.com back in Dec. The part number was 53031576AD. The price was 264. 74 and list was 362. 00. The phone # is 800-559-6698.

I'm still looking for a source for the electronic module by itself instead of having to replace the whole bell crank assembly. If anyone knows if its available, please let me know.

Thanks-Greg

Does the APPS module get dirty and that cause failure? Does it just wear out from use? Does the Apps module need something like a foam filter around the traveling part to help keep it clean?

I have never actually eyeballed one.

I read in the last week or so that someone makes a "module" for the APPS tht takes whatever voltage the Apps puts out and makes that voltage into the correct voltage.

What is the reason for changing out the APPS? I have a symptom with my truck that sounds similar to ones cured with the replacement APPS but thats an expensive gamble on a nonreturnable part. I eliminated my High RPM heavy throttle "miss" by installing a 2 ohm resistor inline on my Comp Pump wire, But the truck doesn't pull as HARD as before. I just cant take the miss. Do you get a code P#### that cues you to the need or what?

I picked mine up from the Ebay seller (posted above) and its mising a cable insert hole (see photos) whats up with that?!

by turning the torx bolts how does that adjust your voltage levels? I was hoping this would be a bolt on easy install but I was wrong... .

The other two holes besides the accelerator pedal cable are for 1) the cruise control and 2) the automatic transmission kick down lever.

In the photos, I believe the hole that is missing is the cable for the automatic transmission but you probably can figure that out by the information supplied above and what options you have on your truck.

The one I bought from the dealership had three holes and I have both an automatic transmission and cruise control.

This would explain the difference between the automatic and manual transmission APPSes but you would think they would just make them all with all 3 holes and not bother with seperate PNs?!?!
