Have been looking at new trucks and dodge is offering some good incentives on the 2500 and 3500 trucks but not cab and chassis. I have a dealer I know and somewhat trust who is offering me a 2007 4x4 quad cab slt cab and chassis with an automatic.

Now for the fun stuff. . It is an early 2007 its been on his lot for over a year and he is willing to knock 6k off off it. . It stickers for 42k and he is willing to go 36k and some change. . + TTL... I can get a better deal on a 2500 but I dont want the dodge automatic--- I prefer the Aisin transmission...

I know there are some dealers on here, is this a good deal and what does everyone think. .

That C&C has the better auto (Aisin) and the DPF is larger and it has less smog crap and they are not having problems with the regen on the C&C. Sounds like a good buy to me with the better setup, the only negative is, its only 305HP.

Steve...

Thanks for the responses, T

he main reason I want the C & C is the Aisin transmission and the 180k warrenty on it.

I know the invoice price and it is within a grand of what he is offering me price wise. I was hoping someone knew what the present rebates or dealer cash was from dodge. . for 2007 cab and chassis... this would give me a better place to start with an offer...

thanks. .

Invoice should be the absolute top dollar price you should be willing to pay. You might even be cheap enough to demand the holdback (approximately 3% of invoice, "HB" on the bottom of the invoice, also be subtracted from invoice to arrive at a price.

It is private info not usually available to the public but the manufacturer frequently offers additional discounts to the dealer to help get rid of old merchanidise like the truck you are considering. You can ask but the dealer may refuse to discuss or deny it exists.

It is a brand new truck and if it is what you want I'd buy it. The only drawback is it is already one model year old and theoretically worth less than a new '08.

On edit: After rereading your post I noticed you said the dealer is already offering a $6k discount. That is well below invoice. Sounds like he's trying to move the merchandise.

Fatcat posted the link to Chrome Carbook, check it out. The incentive I know about is a $900 On the Job credit and it is the same MSRP and Invoice. If you happen to be a member of the Farm Beurea(sp) thats good for another $500 off. I would say configure the truck on Chrome and subtract $1000 that should be your goal. What he's offering you right now should be close.

I see you are in Redlands.

Call up Carson Dodge in Carson City NV - and see what they quote you.

Talk to Bryan Morton.

Told me a couple of weeks ago that they had a bunch of 4500s & 5500s

and could cut me $500 below invoice.

Supposedly they are one of the top 10 volume dealers in the U. S.

Might be worth the nice drive up.

There is an "upfitter" allowance for having an aftermarket bed or body installed. It must be purchased through dealer or through a registered upfitter. I don't think Dodge will pay the upfitter allowance and the Farm Bureau discount, it's one or the other.

On the upfitter allowance, Dodge upfitters want double for the beds to start with so that is a wash. .

The only thing I may get him to do is install it for free. .

Looked into it some more and he is right on what he paid for it minus about 200$...

May wait till the end of the month and see if I can get some more out of him but I think this is a good deal... if you can say that about buying a 40k truck...
