Pride By FleetWood

Has anyone had any problems with these rv's? we thought we upgraded byeing this new pride, seems everytime we take it out somthing falls apart. We have heads of screws poping off, light's falling down, seems they built this one right before break time.

I had a Fleetwood Terry at one time and hated it. All kinds of problems and the dealer was terrible. I solved the problem by getting a Cardinal by Forest River, great unit, well built and insulated and awesome customer service.

A good friend has one that is a year old.



Too many problems to list but here are a few:

Axles broke on first tow

15 new radio systems (!)

super slide came off guides once

bedroom slide pools water on the top because of sag in slideout ceiling

plumbing problems

cant remember the rest...

If it say, "Made by Fleetwood", don't buy it. That includes Caribou slide in campers.

I have a Wilderness Yukon that's made by F'wood.

I havent had only a few minor problems, but I dont live in it. :-laf

The dealer wasnt very good about it, in fact they were downright ****ty about it. Meyer RV on Rt 9 in Lakewood, nj.

I had a few missing screws, one in the slideout stop which was interesting one time out. But I figgered it out.

The microwave was recalled, but I didnt have any problems with mine.

They came to my house to fix it. (Samsung)

One or two other very minor items that WERENT handled under warranty.

All in all, for a cheap TT, I'm OK with it. If I were a fulltimer I would want something a bit better, but I dont go out all that much so I cant justify a +5K-10K price difference.

I REALLY liked the Arctic Fox but it was almost 10K more.

Is it built better. YES! Will I notice it for a few weeks out of the year, no, not really.

I am sorry to hear that you guys are having trouble with Fleetwood. I have owned 3 Fleetwood trailers. The current is a 01 Wilderness 31-5G - 31' fifth wheel. Although it appears that since my trailer was built, some value may have been engineered out, I have had excellent experience with Fleetwood. I have seen them stand behind issues long after the trailer(s) was out of warranty. They did not get to be the biggest RV manufacturer by not taking care of their customers.



Fleetwood sent a towing company to Atlanta last year to tow my trailer back to the factory in Maryland to correct a problem that was not of their making. While there, they went over the trailer and updated or fixed every little nit picking issue they could find.



I have towed my trailer from Atlanta to upper Ontario, Wyoming and all over the east coast. It has been towed thousands of miles over some of the worst concrete road in the country. To be honest, I am surprised that I have not looked into the mirror to see nothing left behind me but a frame. The trailer has experienced absolutely no problems and the structural integrity is perfect. I wish I could say that for my behind and my lower back.



For the money, I think their trailers are the best in the market for the money.



You should be careful to separate your dealer experiences from your trailer experiences and act accordingly. I just do not believe that Fleetwood is as bas as they're being portrayed here. If I had to go buy another trailer today, it would be a Fleetwood Wilderness.

I agree that fleetwood makes a good product, the problem is with quality control. they need some of that going on, the things on this unit where just over looked.

I heard the same statement made about Dodge. I thought my uncle was going to dis-own me when I bought my 03, until he found out it had a Cummins in it.

We have a 2004 Fleetwood Microlite Caravan CK21 and the interior cabinets are 1/8" paneling and were put together with wood screws and staples. Every time we return from a trip a cabinet is sagging and loose screws are laying around. I am ready to remove the microwave (which we don't use) and turn it into a cabinet before we open the door one day and it is on the floor.

I agree that Fleetwood seems to make a good product compared to others we looked at of the same size, BUT I think this one was was assembled on a Friday just about quittin' time. Lots of "rush job" looking finishing work that I didn't notice until later.

The use of some CONSTRUCTION ADHESIVE would have been a good idea. I am slowly rebuilding this thing on my own.

That's what im talking about, Quality control. They have some good products but need to go the extra mile to make sure it leaves there assembly plant right to start with instead of depending on the dealers to pick up the loose ends.

From what I've seen, lots of manufacturers have quality control issues. Even the big, expensive ones. Screws in crooked, bad speaker wiring, poor caulking, etc. Some of the things I expect... if I get a trailer that is built to be lightweight, I expect thin wood cabinets, not solid oak. On the other hand, those thin cabinets should be built and installed as good as possible. I just spent 2 hours in my new Wildcat by Forest River trying to find out why the water pump is so loud. Part of the reason is that some of the hoses are pulling on the pump and it can't sit correctly on the rubber mount. Stuff like that drives you nuts! AARRGG!

We have a 2003 Fleetwood Triumph 36. 5.

This, I believe, is thier top of dee line luxury 5th wheel.

Were pretty happy with this rig and are considering an

06. Maybe a 38 4 slider. I'll tell you this, everone who see's

this trailer is quite impressed. Guess maybe they pay a little

more attention on thier luxury models, and also as I understand it,

Fleetwoods quality issues are a top priority on thier newer

models.

I am also a Fleetwood owner (Terry Quantum TT) and yes there are small problems but overall it is a great trailer and we are more than happy with it. Also are dealer and Feetwood have been fantastic with there warranty and service. Totally different than DC

Well... ... ... ... ... Dosdon this one are a 38 four slide and cost mega bucks, didn't help any to pay the big bucks, don't really matter what you pay if they build it on a monday with all hung over from the weekend! I owned a nomad 30 Ft toung pull with only one slide, was a real good camper it was well built had no problems with it, if mother nature had kept them hail stones to her self we would have it today, If you look at there web sight the pride is there top luxurey model thats what we thought after looking at all the models on there web sight buy the best wouold be able to retire with it. now i keep looking in the mirrow to see if somthing is falling off as we pull it down the road.

i hate to disagree with you guys the problems are not small every time i take my unit out there is more i find my dealer is no help and either is fleetwoods 800# they dont care . im trying to sell my fifth wheel i think im going to buy a unit with the name americana rv looks like a nice unit and they build it the way you want with very nice options
