Passed a 3500 today. He passed me and waived. I don't think he saw me wave back, I was a little slow on the uptake.



I was on my way to a bank sponsored luncheon with a guest speaker on the economy. Interesting, but what I enjoyed most was after the meeting. It was held at a ritzy place in Del Mar Cal. and only had valet parking.



Ahead of me were a line of mostly Lexus and Mercedes when we were waiting for our vehicles. Quite, shiney, classy cars. The guy that picked up my truck had hit the EBrake switch by mistake and was having trouble with the clutch. It attracted a lot of attention.



Someone made a comment and I smiled and annouced it was mine! A guy commented that it was a nice truck and I quitely shouted back QUIET TOO. They all had a good laugh and I felt as good or better than the other owners with their fancy cars.



BTW the prediction for the economy is that there will be one.

I know what you mean

I know what you mean about the pride thing. I was on a little trip up to San Francisco a while back. While driving the narrow streets, I definitely got lots of funny looks in the duallie, with lots of kids plugging their ears as I drove by, which was pretty funny. The real fun came when I pulled into a narrow parking lot at a ritzy hotel behind a line of Mercedes, Lexuses, and my buddy's BMW. The valets were practically fighting each other over who got to take my truck for a spin. I'm not sure if the guy who won considered himself lucky or not after he got behind the wheel and struggled trying to use the clutch to try and turn the thing around. After he left, some guy in a cowboy hat and a thick Texas accent came up to me and said, "Now that's a truck. " I just love that.

Kids in my neighborhood give me the thumbs-up when I drive by.



But I seem to get another appendage-up from some of the "YUPPIES" on the road.
