I've just fitted a Prime-loc fuel filter relocator from Geno's to my 98 12 valve. The new filter body fouls the far rubber brake boost pipe. If I remove the metal section of that pipe from the plastic pipe clip, and rotate the pipe slightly with the union nut at the master cylinder slackened, I can just fit the new filter. However, the rubber pipe still pushes against the filter body, and the result is not good engineering. The manufacturer states that there has never been such a problem with any other of the thousands they have sold. I have sent them a photograph. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks. Nick.

Not been a problem on mine, I get a little rub mark on the filter, but the hose shows nothing. just touchs when the motor twist back & rub the paint off.

Chuck, thank you for your reply. The manufacturer's (Ashland) tech dept now says that this is an issue with the 97/98 12 valves. They advise bending the steel brake booster pipe to obtain clearance, and using a plastic tie to hold the pipe to the other pipes. I am concerned that the pipe could kink if I try this. One solution might be to fit a replacement rubber hydraulic hose all the way to the brake master cylinder. I was hoping some member may have devised a good engineering fix for this. Nick.
