Has anyone installed there fuel pressure fitting into the Prime-loc filter head. I tried it in one of the pipe fitting on the front of the head. It was the on the drivers side. I was getting 25psi at idle. My guage was only a 30psi guage so I don't know what it does past idle. Is that location good for an accurate reading?
 
I believe that the idle pressure is 20-25 and wot is 35-45. I'm not familiar with the prime loc system but you want to read pressure after the filter on the output to the pump(basically telling you the pressure at the pump). If you read pressure before the filter, you can think the pump is getting fuel but might not be due to a plugged filter.

That will work(feed line banjo bolt). I hope the pic posted that I found on Geno's. It seems to show where someone has mounted a electric pressure sensor on a prime loc. I'm not sure if you have an electric or manual gauge but it doesn't matter. You can put a tee in the output to the pump and get your pressure there(this might be the easiest, and probably what I will do because of the simplicity), or if there is an extra output port you can use it for pressure. I would think that the ports should be labeled or should specify in the instructions. Hope this helps and doesn't confuse.

Drill and tap the banjo fitting on the side of the P7100 pump. That way it is out of the way and has the pressure at the pump. Use a needle valve barely open enough for the gauge to work so the pressure spikes are dampened.

I installed a gauge on the clean side of my PrimeLoc. I used a needle valve and gauge from Grainger and a couple of fittings from NAPA. My plan is to install a similar setup on the dirty side and compare pressures.



I had the gauge that came with the PrimeLoc. I never could read the thing and the second time it started to leak, I took it off.

That is not very usefull going down the road. I know from experience that having the gauge where you can read it on the road will save you some problems.
 
Hey thanks for the post. I actually put mine on the dirty side by mistake. Hopefully I can get my guage in soon and get some numbers.
