It has been almost a year that my truck has been sitting in the driveway collecting dust. I was talking with a buddy the other night when he mentioned I may need to "turn" my injector pump before I try and start it. Something about drying out?? It has been sitting because I had to replace the front gear housing thanks to the KDP. I never cracked any of the fuel lines on purpose, in hopes I wouldn't have to mess with the fuel system. I guess the main question is since it has been sitting a year is there anything I should look for when I go to try and start it back up?? Thanks. Mike

As long as your fuel system is leak free it will fire right up. Some guys would worry about starting up with out getting the oil circulating after that long. If you are one of those disconnect the fuel shut off solenoid or relay and crank it over for about 30 seconds, reconnect then fire away.

Take a few minutes to pump the primer plunger in the lift pump. Listen closely for a squeek from the overflow valve next to the top of the injection pump. As soon as it squeeks you should have full prime.

I'd pour some oil into the injection pump befor cranking it over (I read that in the service manual). That will make sure the cam has oil on it before being loaded too much. Than crank the engine over with the fuel soleniod disconnected as mentioned above. You could crack a line or two to see if you have fuel up there when you are priming the oil.
