Private Messaging not working

I have sent a couple of PM's and they did'nt show up on the PM tracking or sent messages. Then today I was told that I was sent a PM and when I looked, it was not there.

I recently made three changes to private messaging based on user input. First is that when you go to your PM box it will show you all messages there instead of what you have set in your control panel. The other two are that keeping a copy of sent PM's and message tracking are by default turned off. The reason for that is many people didn't know about them and filled up their PM boxes with stuff in those two folders. We answered at least 20 inquiries a week asking why their PM box was full - it was because of that. If you want a copy of PM's you send or want to have it tracked then you need to turn those options on each time you send a message. It's below where you enter your messsage and above the sent button.

what is the maximum for the PM Box and if you create a folder to hold PM does that still count in the total allowed

50 is the max and yes all messages in any folders in the PM area count. Yes, I got your email and just replied to it.
