I would like to get some of pro comp 6001 series wheels (17"x9") the offset is 4. 5" compared ot our stock wheel 6" backspace, does anyone know if these wheels will stick out past the fenders, if so how much past? I will probably run 315/70/17 tires

The factory offset is 6" most aftermarket wheels are 4. 5" backspace thus pushing the wheels out an 1 1/2" then your tires will stick out from the wheel, basically you're going to need flares. thats what I came up with.

I talked to Merrick from Desert Proven Peformance in Portland, ... . inquiring about KORE, and tires/wheel sizing. He told me there aren't many wheels out there with 6" backspacing. He said Weld makes a few,... . 17x8. 5... they are Method, Commando, XLander, Cheyenne 8. You are correct, the less the backspacing , the more the tires will protrude from wheel well openings.

Eagle Wheels makes a 18x9, with 6" backspacing. :)

Pro Comp Rotary Forged Wheels

I see PerformanceProducts4Trucks.com has listed Pro Comp Rotary Forged Wheels in their newest catalog page 15.

17X8. 5 w/6" BS: US Stryker-7 Spoke and US Squadrant-8 Spoke. Has anyone tried these??

I could live with these if they were available chrome but they are not listed as such.

I have a set of Alcoa LTS's (on a 1st gen) that are fabulous, but are hard to keep clean account they are (were) polished instead of chrome.

Just getting lazy in my old age I guess!

Hard to believe there are not more wheel manufactures making wheels with the 6" back space with all the Dodge trucks out there that require them.

I just installed a set of the Pro Comp 6001's last Saturday. First, we tried a set in a 17x9. BAD rubbing on the bottom rear of the front fenderwell when turning. So, we went with a set in 17x8 and they still rub, but very slightly and it's not a big deal. I run a 5" lift with 37's and if I was running 35's there wouldn't have been an issue. I would definitely NOT go with the 17x9's. I'm thinking with 315's, unless your running a 4"+ lift, your gonna rub. Stick with the 17x8's and you should be fine. I'll post pics soon.

Nukeman

Did ya not know of the 17x8. 5 with the 6" BS when you ordered or is it a missprint @ PerformanceProducts4Trucks.com?? I also see in other publications thaat the Rotary Forged Pro Comp wheels are available in chrome.

No, doesn't sound familiar. We checked with Pro Comp to see if they made a 8. 5" wheel in the 6001 and they said no dice. Here is the link to the 6001 size/spec sheet. Doesn't show one. http://www.procomptires.com/pxa6001.html

I like the 17x8's. They put my 12. 5" tires even with my fender flares. They didn't rub on the flares, it was the bottom flange of the rocker. I trimmed it (about 1/4") and now no issues. I'm happy with them.

I really wanted the "Knight Chrome" Pro Comp wheels, but they aren't officially available until July.

So if they had a 6" backspace, they would not rub ????

They look sharp!!... . Do you have any pics yet ??

Post a picture of where you had to trim the bottom flange of rocker.

Centerline makes some wheels with 6" backspacing or very close to that. You can find them on the DRC website:http://http://desertracingconcepts.net/accessories.htm

I have the 18x9. 5" Eagle Alloy 114's. I 325/60R18's on them and they don't rub with stock suspension - they didn't on my '03 anyway. I have yet to try them on my '07 Mega Cab.

Are you going with the 18x9. 5" Eagles on your 07'?? There shouldn't be a problem with them as they have proper backset and offset. ... ... Your thoughts ??

Here's some pics. Their from a camera phone so they aren't the greatest.

First pic is of the bottom of the rocker. I had to trim about 1/4" off; hardly noticeable. Kinda dirty too, but that's Montana!
