Hey all,

FYI - I just got off the phone with Summit Racing and they have the entire line of Pro Comp shocks on sale - buy 3 get 1 free. I picked up four ES9000's with boots and shipping for under $130. I've read several positive comments on these shocks, but I'll let you know how I like 'em in a week or so.

If anyone is interested, here are the Summit part numbers for an unlifted 4x4 2500:

Fronts: EXP-ES922553

Rears: EXP-ES925543

Boots: Depends on color (Royal Blue: EXP-12100)

The description says they only fit up through 1999, but I called Explorer Pro Comp and they said they would fit up through 2002. You may want to confirm before ordering though.

Huge improvement but last about 2 years at best! I pulled mine out in favor of some Stainless HD Bilsteins and the pro comps you could extend the rod and let it go and it would slowly self seat all by its lonesome. Or you could push it in with minimal effort. But then again they are relatively inexpensive so you dont mind freshening up wit new one every 2 years the cost is about the same.

I like 'em!

The Pro Comp ES9000 shocks are a huge improvement over the stockers. You can definitely tell that they are stiffer than the originals since I get more feedback through the suspension.

They significantly smoothed out the rhythmic bounce I was getting out of the rear end when going over some rough expansion joints.

They also perform great when towing. The truck doesn't rock front to back like it used to when you hit bumps or dips in the road. Nice smooth ride now.

Given the price and the lifetime warranty, I'm pretty satisfied. My buddy just put some on his 3500 4x4 CTD and he had the same comments.

FWIW,

Steve
