PREMO Lubrication Technologies HELP!

A couple months ago I got a new shift lever for my 2003 6-speed from Pro Finish in Kent, Washington. After several thousand miles I must say it's pretty :cool:

It's pretty easy to install and you can angle it to any orientation then tighten the nut at the base. I like the fact it reaches over toward my center console so I can shift with my arm resting on the console. Also it gives more clearance around the storage cubby so I can stick my CB in there. Jesse has them for 2nd Gen 5 and 6 speed Rams as well.

Take a look at this thread on Northwest Bombers for pictures and details: http://www.nwbombers.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=2;t=5134

Got Smoke, this is a shift lever only, and it's about the same length as stock. It doesn't have anything to do with the shift gates like the Short Shifter does.

well that sucks!:{

I read that it can be angled somewhat, I suppose that might help? ANYthing's got to be better than the OEM reach for 5th in a Pre-98! :rolleyes:

I really gotta get me an extra OEM and modifiy it! :-laf

Ok. .

I'll bite on this one...

What is the difference in the NV4500's from 98 back as compared to the same transmission in the 99's and up???. I see nothing different in them, maybe I am missing something???. Proram has installed the B-D short shift in his 01 NV4500 equipped truck and I thought if it was a five speed they were all the same... ... ... . Andy

In 98 they changed the interior of the rams as well as the top of NV4500 it seems. Ever noticed what a 98 5spd shift looks like?

Short, straight, and angled right out at the driver. Also the floor cover/boot extend farther out of the floor than pre-98's.

My 97 for example the shifter is longer, come's straight up about 3" or so outta the boot and then bends back, and its not really angled anywhere. Oh and you really gotta reach out there for 5th gear.

The 98 models have a lot closer shift gates, and the throw is A LOT shorter. The first time I drove my buddies 99 5spd 3500 I missed a gear twice!:eek:

I've asked numerous people if the shifter's can be swapped and everybody says no, and the ones I've asked would know.

So until a company makes a pre-97 short shift kit I guess I'll just :mad: :{

Or I might finally get off my @$$ and modify a oem shifter.

Had the pleaseure of driving a friends dad's 98 4x4 a couple of weeks ago while hauilng hay. Definately A LOT quicker shifting. But hey opinions are like... ... . ;) :-laf

Ive got a vendor working on it. But, they are not a big one and dont have a guy who can sit around and play with a transmission all day. I should have one by spring. From what I've herd, you can switch the top cover to one from a new one and then put on a shortie shifter.
