Hey guys and or gals I have a little problem. I got an edge ez yesterday so I thought I would hook it up real quick before I went to work. So I put it on and started it up. First it did not want to start and when it did it idled like **** and started to lope so I shut it off. I checked the connections and used dielectric grease. Started it up and same thing. With the truck running I started checking the plugs again and when I touched the return line from the pressure relief valve it was VERY hot. So I shut it off and removed the ez and left for work. I could tell before I got out of the driveway something was wrong. Anything past 1/3 throttle and I lose power. If I keep into the throttle it will start to cut out. I also noticed that anything more than idle and the fuel pressure will drop. With the fass pump I have never seen less than 17 psi but getting on the highway it went down to around 10 psi before I let out to turn around and go home. I also have rail pressure codes p0191 and p0192.

Perhaps the box caused the CP3 to call for max pressure, causing your relief valve to open. Supposedly if you replace the valve with the marine unit it will take a beating. It's designed to pass fuel, unlike the stocker.

My buddies 05 did the same thing with a quad XZT, bad lope, bad idle and an alarmingly hot fuel rail. The connector was backwards at the rail, hope this helps. In spite of the efforts made to prevent this I guess its still not too difficult to reverse it accidentally. His codes were the same too-

Yup, check the plug at the fuel rail, turn it around and see how it does. On my 04 I had the Ramifier plug turned around and had same problems with idle. I think the factory plug boot color was orange, maybe blue though.

I think you'd be best off to have someone take a look at your truck. Maybe someone who is a trained tech with a DRBIII, but not at a dealer. They may be able to find your problem. My guess is you need a new seal on your rail relief valve (I've read you can replace just a seal) if you're experiencing a loss of power. Sounds like fuel returning to the tank instead of going to the injectors.
