2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Problem inside steering column

Auto shift lever will not move the trans linkage. The problem is inside the steering column because I can manually move trans linkage to engage reverse or drive and trans works fine. Has anyone had this problem before... . Mike

Sounds like something with the ignition. Like it's keep the shifter locked.
