5. 9 2001 lost power steering and power brakes suddenly heard a pop on my 2500 dodge ram

Check to see if the p/s pump is still pumping.

Heard a pop? Did a high pressure line blow?

When mine did this the pressure relief valve in the pump stuck closed and when it "popped" the pressure drove it into the pump bore in the open position. Also the high pressure ruined my hydro-boost unit.

That sounds expensive. Ouch.

About $260. 00 for pump and hydroboost at Oreilly's plus fluid. Did install myself.
