Problem with ATS transmission, need help

:{ Pulling a grade with 8000 lbs trailer, transmission jumped out of 4th into 3rd gear and thats where it stayed for the 150 miles home. ATS sent me a VBA fix it but it didn't work. So here I am on Labor day week end with a truck with 3rd gear only. Any one with a ATS transmission have any fix its. Thanks,TDragna

Do you have the ATS Commander? If so, try bypassing it (remove the plug from the back of the Commander, and jumper the yellow wire to the blue wire. This will return TCC control back to the PCM. Check the tap connections at the PCM, paying particular attention to the green and white wires (one of these is the OD, the other is the speed sensor). Make sure nothing's busted, corroded, or otherwise out of place.



It's also possible that it's got nothing to do with the trans or the trans controller - a dirty APPS will prevent OD from kicking in, as will dirt and corrosion on the TCM connectors.

Tom Lawrence--Thanks for the reply. Sorry I'm late getting back to you. The latest on my truck is that it's at Performance Transmission in Las Vegas,NV. They told me the transmission fluid is burnt and there is clutch material in the pan. They are waiting to here back from ATS. :{ TDragna

What is an aero turbine and a tag. You have them in the description of your truck. I never heard of them before.
