Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Problem with power

I have a 2002 truck with 54000 miles on it. Last week I took the truck in because it had no power at times,, you would step on the throttle and it would bog down as if it was not getting fuel. . The dealership replaced the lift pump - no pressure, then said the problem was fixed,, I drove it home and it was still doing the same thing still,, but not as bad,, I used a code scanner and there is a P0216 code set on the computer. . however the engine light is not on. The truck is back in the dealership right now,, I took the technician for a ride but I could not get the truck to do it while the technician was in the truck. . SUGGESTIONS?????????????????????? HELP :{

o216 is the vp44 injection pump death code dealers needs to replace it

The dealer is replacing the VP44,, should be done friday. Thanks to all whom replyed

So you mention, code scanner, did you not see any codes when you do the 3 key-cycle ?? BC mine is doing the same thing but it shows -0- codes!! I need to get on this ASAP.

I have been having the same issue for about a year. Here's the kicker, though. If I put the truck in neutral, turn off the key, then restart the motor, it runs fine.



If anyone has had similar problems, please let me know what the solution is.

Does it show codes? Or just the same probelms - Dead Pedal? lack of power, etc.
