I ordered a 4 inch exhaust off a member of this site. I wanted an alumized exhaust with a muffler. I got it home and it was a straight pipe system. So I pm said member and their only response was, and I Quote," Woops. I think I sent you a straight pipe system. " I have tried to contact this person three times, and have got no response whatsoever. Any advice as to what to do. I thought maybe there was something going on at home or something, but I looked and said member has been posting on the site. I got a good deal, but I paid for a muffler, and by God I want it!

Without hearing both sides, IF and I say IF, this is just as you presented,

you have not received what you ordered, you have an email admitting such,

this should not be a problem to fix, as you have leverage.

If they will not respond to friendly communication, then you may have to take it

up a notch. if it comes to that, PM me. I have a knack for the game.

I hope this is just a misunderstanding, but by all means defend your rights.

i think you should give him a reasonable time frame to correct it and if he doesn't, blab like hell on TDR about it so other members won't get screwed too.

Straight pipe it... they sound better anyways. Hopefully the guy will fix the problem, but if not... I have a brand new 4" muffler from summit racing kit that I can send your way. If you want it pm me & I'll get it sent out. Good Luck.

I would say that if he is a site vendor we expect better and if you have given him the chance to correct the issue i would approach the board about having him removed as a vendor if you paid by credit card call the credit card company and inform them of the situation and they will start a process called a charge back. this means they take your money out of his account and he has to prove that he has done what is prudent with other suppliers of similar products. it will cost you nothing and you will get your money back. Kevin

When you say you contacted him, does that mean you made a phone call to him or an e-mail/pm?

There was a guy out of TX doing a group buy on exhaust. A buddy of mine bought one. It was a quality system. I also called the vendor to ask about the exhaust. He was VERY friendly and most helpful. I don't know if it's the same person or not.

My experience is that people sometimes SEEM to get lazy when there's a problem. If you haven't made a phone call, I'd certainly do that. A phone call seems to usually get people going more than an e-mail or PM.

If I had to guess at what's going on here, I'd say that the guy has shipped or plans to ship out the muffler with his next order. I know my buddies exhaust didn't ship for a week after he ordered it b/c the vendor didn't want to run to the shipper every day with one exhaust system. He'd wait a week, and get 5 or 6 to ship at a time. Can't say as I blame him.

I feel your frustration, I've been there. So far my experience has been that I'm just too impatient when I THINK someone is trying to shaft me.

Best of luck.

Input

You have received very good input here from other TDR members.

If it is a TDR Advertiser, PM me, and I will gladly place a phone call to assist in "shaking the tree. "

Thank you for not posting the Vendor's information until you have exhausted every reasonable and professional means for resolving this error.

I look forward to hearing from you.

As a business owner myself, I would recommend you giving the person a call. I know that from time to time I get busy and overlook things. Mistakes happen, it's how you take care of them that matters. Just my 2 cents! Jeremy.
