Okay guy's here is what's going on. We have a Miller three phase model 444 that will weld great until you burn about half of your rod. You can use the same rods in our Lincoln gas machine with no problem. The rods being used are 6011's and 7018's. Rods are being stored in an enclosed box with a light in it. Rods are always warm and dry so I think there is something with the Miller machine. It was checked out once by a certified Miller dealer when we got it and no problems. Any thoughts?

You've got a dropped phase ("leg") or a transformer going bad, just from what you've described. Might want to try another Miller service center, or put your foot down, make them give you a new one, if you bought it new and it's still relatively new.
