A friend of mine got a great deal on an 01 2500 with a yellow void sticker on the side of the VP44. The truck has been played with at one time. Not much aftermarket is left on the engine (you can see where the pump wire was taped). I was looking at it and it looks like someone made a home made boost fooler. The red and brown wires for the MAP sensor have separate wires that are tapped on to them using scotch-locks. The wires then run into the cab and are connected to a regular single pole, single throw switch. When the switch is turned on the truck pulls very hard in the upper RPM range. I don't think it is setting any codes, not that it matters with a void warranty, because the check engine light doesn't come on.
Are there any drawbacks to this low-tech boost fooler
