Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Problems with lock up switch on 02

So I install my lock up switch and find that I have no lock when I hit the switch!??



So I went on a test drive and found that when the truck puts itself into lock up and I hit the switch it kicks out of lock up...



This is not exactly what most people want a LU switch to do!!

I am thinking that the 02 LU kicks in when the ground is taken away.

This means I would need to cut the wire to achieve LU???

It started working!



I have no clue why, but it just started working on my short morning drive??



But it won't stay locked when downshifted past 3rd

I find it very strange that one second its an UN lock switch and the next a lock up...



Oh well, it seems to be working pretty well so I guess im happy now

i had the same exact problem! what my case was is that i ran power to the switch, when it didnt call for it. my way of thinking was that this switch was wired like a foglight switch or somethin, but in this case you dont need power to the switch like you normally would.

No, I did not run power to it... but rather a ground, like the directions call for
