Problems with Power Edge EZ anyone?

Members with the new EZ box, I need some input!
I have a new EZ box that suddenly stopped working one cold morning. I had the unit installed for about 2 weeks when it went. I had cranked up and started to work one morning (18degF) and got 1/4 mile from the house when the oil pressure dropped suddenly, the check gauges light came on (not the check engine light), and the oil pressure went right back up. I shut the engine down and checked everthing - no visible problems - and cranked back up to proceed to work. First sign of problem - no extra fueling. I later unplugged the box and the truck runs exactly the same. I have tried all three jumber positions with the same results. Also checked the plug connection, found no problems.
I am curious to see if anyone else has had problems. I have seen the post on the vibration when towing. Since I plan on towing, but have not gotten a chance to tow with the box yet, I am interested in anyones experiences with the unit. The unit worked fine up until that morning, and the only other complaint I have had is the added noise in the cab from the advanced timing at cruising speed - about 5-10db increase. Need more input!!

Hmmm? Very interesting. I have had mine for some time now and not had any problems. Have to keep my eye on this one. Have you emailed Brett or Taylor? They are a class-act and I'm sure would be really interested in hearing about this. Keep us posted.

Same here boss. Mine (Power Edge) did it a couple weeks ago. Wouldnt hardly pull itself out of the way. Unhooked it all and now truck runs normal. I have Bretts phone number at the Edge. I plan on calling this week, as last week was way too busy with Christmas and all. Email me and I will get the number to you. they are great at customer service. If its broke, they'll fix it.

I have had an EZ in my truck now for about 2 months. . and no probs here. I really think you need to call Brett at Edge Products and talk to him. See what he says.

Just wanted to add to the record that I called the boys at the Edge today, and no questions asked, its taken care of. This is the second time they have hooked me up. If you are wanting to buy one of their products, go for it. They are good people.

I have not had any problems with my EZ. It has been below 0 here in Wyoming quite a bit this year. I have it set on the second setting. The mpg is better, no smoke on start up or low rpm, and it does not over power the truck on slick roads. Oh, how could I forget the extra power after the boost comes up. It is great. I have had the DD stage 1's, the VA, and the boost modules on my 98. 5. IMHO the EZ works the best for my needs.

Thank you for your rapid responce, Taylor! I received the replacement unit on Friday just before we left for the mountains. Preliminary test was great. Just enough extra power to maintain speed up most hills. The drive train in my truck cannot take much more than the 1st setting for towing. My 5spd would shake the truck on 3rd jumper setting between 1200-1600rpm in any gear. EGT's have never been lower while towing. Stock - 1250F+ was easy. With EZ - 1100F was max, no matter how hard you push it. I really like the timing changes also. Smoothes out everything on accel and cruise.
I also tested a Diablo Power Puck, but I am hesitant to say much yet. More testing to follow, but EZ wins this weekend trip to the mountains hands down. I am looking for a VA to test also.

I cant agree with you guys more about Brett and Taylor. I handle their Power Edge product line because of their quality of service. I chose to handle the Edge Product above all the others. As a vendor i can choose to sell any product.
While i can have a better profit margin handling some of the other power enhancements boxes,Brett and Taylor deal with their customers as i do in my own business. No excuses required.

I personally run both the eze box and the hot box, and i have never had a problem.
Those of you that have test driven my truck know the kind of abuse we put it through.

We really like and enjoy the Edge products both from a professional point of view and a personal point of view.
