I will appreciate guidance in step-by-step procedure for adjusting the idle on my '96 Dodge Cummins 2500 4wd. Thanks a lot.

You want to use a 3" long 10mm box / open end wrench.

If you check Craftsman tools, they sell a package of small metric wrenches that are box / open end.

The 10mm one out of that kit is small enough to use with your right hand's finger tips when you are hanging by your heels from the hood as described above. Use your left hand to keep the throttle open so the idle screw is unobstructed.

Thanks to RSivula, charlessmith, Jeff Hammaker for their information on this task. Without the contributions of each, I would have not been successful at even locating the key adjustment components.

Lots of good information and advice, folks!

Job is successfully done.

P. S. Isn't the TDR a great resource, folks?
