Anybody looking for a good CB?

??? Best Gooseneck ??? Best Price.

I just installed a Prodigy in my rig for towing my Jeep on a carrier (probably 7k lbs total). I called Tekonsha and they say "Sleep Mode" draws 10MA. That's not enough to worry about except this isn't a daily driver. I probably drive it once a week or less. Anyone have any real life experience with this controller and how it'll affect my battery life?

Thanks,

Mine sat for over a week while we were on vacation and nothing went wrong. I don't think it's an issue if your batteries are good. If you are concerned about it, you can just unplug the harness from the controller.

My dads truch is only out of the shed to pull somthing on the farm so it will sit for weeks at a time and he had never had a problem. To show how much it sits it has 16000 miles on it and he picked it up in feb 05

10MA = 1/100th of 1 amp

100 hours of use = 1 amp

100 hours = 4. 17 days of use = 1 amp

7 days = 1 week = 1. 68 amp hours

30 days = 7. 2 amp hours

A standard small car battery is rated around 200 amp hours

1 month of use would reduce the battery by about 4 percent.

Thanks for the detail. I won't worry about it:D
