I finally got a Prodigy based on everyones reports. The only thing I've pulled is our 3 axle gneck with a 1600 gal tank on it. I like the features of the Prodigy except when the tank is less than full you get sloshing. The prodigy senses the for and aft movement and lowers the braking power, then as the liquid hits the front the power goes way up again, over and over. I'll probably like it alot more with the fiver.

Hmmm... the Prodigy is probably more accurate on my holding tanks than my tank monitors! If the braking is jerky, I still can flush more! I really like mine, worlds ahead of my old pendulum style.

I don't even consider holding tanks an issue. They are not enough weight moving around to matter. I'm refering to a load with 1000 to 1400 gallons of liquid fertilizer (@11 lbs/gl)sloashing back and forth. I think with the fiver it will work great.

I know you won't notice with the holding tanks. Just joking that my sensors are not the most accurate. ;) Black water goes from 0 to full in one flush! Maybe it's something I ate... :-laf

Any inertial controller is going to react to changes in deceleration as would occur when liquid loads slosh. That's one of the critical failings of the design.

Go for a true proportional controller like the Brakesmart or (for less $$$), Jordan Ultima 2020. What your right foot requests on the brake pedal is precisely what you'll get for trailer braking.

I'll second the Jordan. I put mine on last year and wouldn't buy anything else. I really don't understand why some are against them and recommend old inertia style controllers. The Jordan flat works period. Hauling a little tag trailer or a goose neck implement trailer loaded to the hilt. The controller does EXACTLY what it's designed and advertised to do. You hardly notice the trailer is back there. Just my . 02 worth but from experience in using a Jordan I wouldn't have anything else.
