Getting Ready for Trip Down the Coast

Pressure Pro

I wired up a Prodigy on a buddies 01 Dodge. Everything was good till he hooked to a trailer. The problem is nothing changed. Still just the dots. I took a test light out earlier and it lights up when the brakes are used. Any ideas??? I was going to call the Prodigy tech support but no weekend service.

Thanks in advance

You should have had a CA light up on the display when you connected the trailer. This lets you know that you have a brake connection. I am guessing a wiring problem in the trailer. Check in the manual with the Prodigy for ideas and an explantation of codes. Sorry I'm not much more help.

As stated above, the problem is with the trailer or the connection at the plug. The display should say C(?), sorry can't remember the second letter, when everything is working correctly.

Has somebody been monkeying with the wiring on the truck and/or trailer? There's a schematic around somewhere. Time to start tracing. If the trailer was totally miswired it should've said something like "ER" for error.

Well I hooked it to my trailer with my adapter to do some more testing and it works perfectly. I thought it might have been the adapter so I switched to his. Still works perfectly. So I think it's narrowed to the trailer but the trailer works with his Fords that have the prodigy's in them.

Do the Fords use a different prong in the connector for the brake wire? I know they shouldn't but that doesn't mean anything. Check to make sure everything is wired the same.

I only get the dot when I brake until I hook up the trailer, then when I step on the brake, the numbers ramp up to the maximum effort number that I have set. With the rig stopped, have sombody step on the brake. Standing by the trailer, you can hear the magnets latch in.
