Where to look for an enclosed trailer

I'm not sure if anyone has had any problems with the prodigy unit but I thought I'd post this anyway. The problem appears to be rampant with the powerstroke equipped fords but my '03 2500 had some issues as well. It would periodically flash o. g. when no trailer was attached and would frequently flash n. c. with the trailer attached. Tekonsha sent me a sample unit as they've been trying vigorously to get the problem fixed. I had a chance to test it out today and I have no problems with the new unit. Tekonsha said the updated units should be shipping soon.

I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I just installed it a few weeks ago. I've only towed with it once. No problem to date.

Same thing

You know now that you mention it my Prodigy is about a year old an I have noticed the same thing. But what I have noticed that when it is real cold on startups it flashes this code. When it warms up it is fine. I am thinking it occurs when my grid heater cycles and draws the amps. Just guessing and will have to wait and see if it does it when it gets warmer.

Re: Same thing

I called Tekonsha today and they said the latest ones are just coming off the production line and that they are replacing the older units if the customer is having a problem. They said to call tech support at 1-888-785-5832.

Called Tekonsha

Well I called them and the lady I talked to seemed clueless. She said to check the ground which I did and it is fine. She also said that it does not effect the function of the brake controller functions (but she is not pulling 15,000lbs either). She took my info and said when they figure out a fix they will call me. So much for customer service...

They went through the same thing with me, too. It seemed to stop when I told them I took the same unit from a Tundra and put it in the Dodge and had the problem. I think the lady that I'd spoken with first was Linda.

I received, and installed my Prodigy in Dec. , have towed approx. 10K mi. with it, and have had no problems with it. It replaced a Tekonsha Centinal, which I had on 3 trks. and worked well, but like the Prodigy a lot better. I really like it.
