Tongue Weight

I need another brake controller... I just bought a new Grand Cherokee and want to put a controller in it for the times I might tow my car trailer with it (since it's rated to tow 6500 lbs).

That being the case, I see the snazzy new Prodigy and wonder if it's worth $40 more than the Sentinel, which is what I have in my RAM. And if it is, would I be better to use the Prodigy in the RAM or in the Jeep? The Sentinel seems to work just fine in my RAM... so I thought maybe the Prodigy might do better in a vehicle that weighs barely more than half what my truck does. :)

I can't advise you but would like your advice if you try the prodigy. Thinking about trying the prodigy and would like input on satisfaction of this controller.

Buy the Prodigy, you will never go back. You will find yourself buying another mount so you can move the Prodigy controller (plug in) between the two tow rigs. You will have a used Sentinal for sale after you use the Prodigy.

Boldt's Wagon: Good advise! You'll love the Prodigy. It has a quick disconnect that you can take back and forth from vehicle to vehicle.

I tow my 5400# towable with it and it is by far better than my old Energizer(?) The boost settings are great for dirt roads. The digital volt readout is good to know. The self levling is da' bomb.

Good luck,

Pat

I installed a Prodigy on my truck a couple of months ago. I tow a 5000 lb two axle travel trailer. I'm impressed with how smooth and sure the trailer stops. The best feature is how well it works at low speeds and stop and go driving, no jerking at all. I adjusted it once and haven’t touched it since. Well worth the $149. 00 I spent a Camping World.
