Hey Guys, I posted a while back about trying to find a solution to the dark red brake dust that the factory pads put out on my chrome wheels. I could wash the truck and within 10 miles the front wheels were already turning red.

I decided to try the EBC GreenStuff pads, they advertise as being low dust and better performance. I paid roughly $65 for the front set.

I only had about 28,000 miles on the truck and the rotors are in fine shape. I took the old pads out, pushed the pistons back, and installed the new pads. I took the rotors off and scuffed the surfaces, then put it all back together. The pads came with a layer of "break in material" on them that was a lot different color than the rest of the friction material, something I hadn't seen before.

I put them through the break in procedure outlined in the instructions, and once they got through that I was VERY impressed with the stopping power. A noticeable difference compared to the stock pads.

Initially I was pretty upset because they immediately blackened my wheels worse than anything I have ever seen. I now think that this was the "break in material" part of the pad. I washed the truck after about 200 miles on the new pads and have driven another 200+ since the wash and there is NO dust on the wheels. The performance isn't as good as it was initially, but it's still better than the stockers (either that, or I just got used to them in a hurry - hard to say).

For both performance and dust I give them a thumbs up!
