Program mode

I'm trying to program a new key fob and I'm following the directions in the owners manual. When you turn the key and wait for the chime that signals the truck is in the program mode, no chime occurs. Any ideas?

It took me about 15 tries to get it to work. Go back and re-read the instructions again and see if there's anything that needs to be done different. Some things to check - door closed, feet on the floor (off the pedals), parking brake on. I'm not sure if any of those matter, but the system is very picky about the timing and sequence of what you have to do to program a new key.
