programming keyless entry

just wondering if anyone else has lost the stock remote and got a new replacement that programed it to the truck. i have the remote and cant seem to find out how to program it

Oh? Thats news to me. Its probably some combination of opening and closeing the doors and key cycles. .

On the 2007. 5 and 2008's, you can program a replacement key if you have the two orginal keys - for those years - if you don't have both original remotes, you need to go to the dealer. I took in a key I got off ebay and the dealer programmed it for free.

I added keyless entry to my 2003 truck. Dealer had to program it.

I think that their is instructions in the owners manual for programing remotes

We bought my wife an '03 that only had one remote with it. I bought one off e-bay and followed the instructions in the owners manual. All in all, it took about 3 minutes, pretty simple. You do need to have (1) original remote to get into the programming mode with. Good Luck, Trey

Can I buy an old remote (03-05) and program it to my truck?



I miss the days of leaving the truck running and having the remote to lock/unlock. Now I have to pack an extra key... or leave it unlocked.

I like the idea of having the key/remote combo, but I also leave the truck running and take the remote with me on occasion. Too bad they don't make the key-remote with the ability to separate the two for these such occasions...
