Progress Report...

We ordered a CPU and RAM upgrade today for the server. Hopefully it will be installed in the morning. We had hoped it would be installed today but no dice... .



In the meantime, I believe that overall the site performed much better tonight. There were a few times when it got busy (when lots of searches were going on) but for the most part it was up and running all the time.



Yesterday the site was giving busy notices a lot more and it's peak usage was 124 users at once. Tonight the peak was 168... . I'd say my tuning efforts helped A LOT.



The CPU/RAM upgrade should take care of the remaining speed issues.

Why did you dump UBB? Is admin of this bb that much different?

UBB

UBB hit the wall in features, security and administration. UBB 6 is reported to have an enormous number of problems.



CPU/RAM was supposed to be installed today. Hosting facility dropped the ball on this one... we're still waiting... .
