Competition dyno in northern nevada

I have heard from the Project X team today. The results are pretty good. First run was 141mph, second run was 145. 3mph. The final run was 151mph. They still had very good power in reserve but need more RPM. They are thinking they can go 160mph. That would be very cool to go that fast and maybe more. Thanks, Brady Oo.

Heard from Greg this evening about the 150+ pass. Congrats to all involved.

Remember this is a standing mile. With the speed being an average through a trap (like an 1/8th, or 1/4 mile is done) not actual speed on radar.

Still running the original short block, with over 225,000 showing on the odometer. (Had 216,816 before the first pass at DHRA Finals Houston)

They don't know yet if they are going to try the stack and the N2O yet.

That run was done on #2 and a Silver Bullet 66, Diablo programer, TS Performance MP-8 pressure box, II CP3, and II injectors. Everything used today was off the shelf commercialy available products.

Project X is being run with a STOCK 1500 Dodge rear end. No trick parts, just Dodge, Cummins, and other readily available parts, nothing really custom.

All in all congrats guys. You do deserve it.

It does. It is available from ZZ Fabrications and is a readily available part.

It wasn't listed in the previous post because most of the guys on here already know about the headwork.

The list was mostly so that guys knew what variables we had changed. :)

But, yes the truck has a Ray-Mac head and a ZZ Fab Manifold with a MaxSpool cam.

I went 135 MPH last week and i still had 1400 rpm to go! Stock tires were starting to vibrate a little so i backed out. 135MPH at 2000 rpm ain't bad, huh?

i think i need z rated. Doesn't feel like driveline. Its a thick wall large tube driveline balanced like crazy, or maybe its just nerves. Don't think cops would be happy seeing a truck run over 135 mph at the Riverdale Mile, lol.

Correct on the 1500 front end. It was the choice of the owner to go that route in order to lower it.

Also has a STOCK 1500 rear axle under it too.

And short tires about 28" tall.

Just for an update, Project X made 160+ mph at the Texas mile. Congratulations to the Project X Team for a very good job. Just thinking about the hp calculations to run that fast. Big hp is what would make that mph. Another dyno run would be cool to show what it's doing now. Thanks

Not to bash anyone but I would think they could go faster than that. I have had mine up to 135mph with 6" of lift and 37's. I only did it once and have since regeared it but I am not even close to the hp that truck has.

A run on the SALT, that would be cool. That would show how fast it could run. Oh wow, all the possabilties and what could be done. I have hung out with those salt racer guys during speed week. Thats very fun and they all help each other. We have sponsored a few salt cars and went out there helping them. You must have a golf cart though. Jumping from camp to camp is a very good time. Seeing what everyone is up to, helping and learning a few things along the way is a very good time.

Did you calibrate the speedometer after adding the 37's :-laf

I didnt know that the speedos read that high:-laf But if that were the case I bet with 37's TJ's about 15% off, at 135 MPH thats 20. 25 MPH slower than it should be reading, 155 MPH:eek: But we all know thats not going to happen.
