Years ago I ran propane on several vehicles... at the time, the dealer (propane) gave anyone using motorfuel the same rate as their lowest customer... . it was 40% the cost of gasoline... a rare value... but on the weekend or away it was hard to find propane that cheap... . Mind you, you could always find it... but often it was more than gasoline...
With today's costs, I can't see where it would provide enough additional MPG at a reasonable cost... . the other issue is I don't understand how you'd meter it into the engine...
We understand there is some left over, unused air in a diesel engine... . a lot of it, in fact up to 1200-1500 rpm. . but metering it other than a regulator at one pressure and volume no matter the rpm concerns me...
Maybe one of you can enlighten us all.....
