How to use Tow/Haul mode?

Older slide in camper/new duallie

Anyone have experience with propane injection for towing? Obviously I'm interested in a little more power, but also in mileage increases which these systems are supposed to give. Do they really increase your mileage? What do they do to your peak EGTs? For towing, they are supposed to use 1 gallon of propane for 4 gallons of diesel - is this your experience? What kind of system have you used, how big a tank and where did you locate it? Thanks!

ropane injection is associated with blown head gaskets and could be considered older technology by todays modifications.

A good set of fuel injectors or some electronics should be an easy upgrade and safer.

Propane, no touchie!

I would not even think about messing with it. Not worth it. Changes your timing and can just be a headache from what I understand. Also, if you read the ads it increases DIESEL milage, but thats because you are burning 2 fuels, and you have to search out someone who carries Propane. Personally, if you are set on mixing something with your diesel, water meth is the only option. It just runs on window washer fluid. Wal-mart, bout a buck a gallon. I think a good fueling box would do you better. Another option with a small box, like an EZ would be a mild turbo upgrade, like A BD super B or something that isn't too big but has a larger exhaust housing to drop your drive pressure and a more effient compressor to drop charge temps. I would think these combined would be a decent improvement in both areas. Hope this helps.
