Under 500hp, you can add some with LPG. It's another fuel, but some report higher EGT's, others report lower. Logic would say EGT should go up with more fuel in the cylinder, but the cold of it being injected helps too.
With a Cummins, fueling is really not much of a problem. The more fuel you put in, the less you will gain with LPG. The more you put in, the more you could gain with N2O.
N2O is an oxidizer. Just like adding more boost, N2O fills the cylinder with more O2 to burn the diesel that is in there. Now, to need N2O, you need more fuel than you can burn with the air currently being stuffed into the cylinder by the turbo. In other words, if you have black smoke puking out at WOT, full boost, you could use N2O. Gains are respective to how much extra fuel/smoke you have.
