OK, now bear with me here...
I'm going to change the PS Fluid in my 04... got the manual out... states to pull the hose off, plug the return to the pump, add fluid while the truck is running to flush the system, blah, blah, blah... they don't give volume because "hose diameter, length, etc" all vary model to model, so basically fill it to the full mark.
No my question is, I was told by a tech that there is a screen in the system somewhere? I already looked at the 2004 FSM, it shows no screen. My initial thought is that he was thinking of something else, but I want to just verify that I'm correct in thinking that there is no screen?
The reason I'm doing this is I'm getting a "moaning" from the pump... the fluid looks a little worn (discolored) and smells bad... I know they say that's not a good indicator, but it's good enough for me. I'm going to step up to some Amsoil here...
Thoughts about the screen??
