I know I read a thread about removing the screen and pressure spring on the 3rd gen PS pump... I searched seven pages back, and nothing.

Anyone point me to that thread or walk me through the steps??

I like to use a suction gun to remove as much fluid as I can from the steering reservior about once a year. Then I fill it back up with store brand power steering fluid. NOT any type of ATF.

At 100K, I removed the lower PS hose from the PS radiator. Drained all the old fluid, flushed the whole system with Redline ATF+4, then re-filled with the Redline ATF+4. ATF+4 is specified for the '03 and later trucks.

Oh, don't get me wrong... I suck out the reservoir every 10k, and replace with fresh fluid...

I was just wondering if, like the 2nd gen, there was a screen that needed cleaned or a spring to stretch...
