PS Pump Return lines

The Cummins PS pump only has one return line, whereas I have 2 (one from the hydroboost and the other from the steering box o n my 6. 2L Chevy diesel) which originally connected to their dedicated return inlets.



I'm thinking about using a tee or "Y" piece to go 2 into one - any caveats or experience with doing this?

My friend put hydro boost onto a vaccume truck about a year ago. He's running the stock small block chevy pump with a "T" fitting in the return. It works fine for him.



On my Conversion I took the old housing off of a 6. 2 Diesel steering pump and put it onto the back of the dodge pump on the cummins. Then I made a bracket for the remote canister up by my throttle linkage.

if you want to do it right buy a ps can for a rig with hydroboost it costs about 50 bucks and it takes no time..... I put hydroboost on my rig with ps and alot of hose because the hydroboost is under the drivers seat and didn't want to deal with possible problems

Interesting! My existing PS canister doesn't have the remote reservoir, so it's too big to swap in. Is the Dodge canister for hydroboost bigger than the steering pump only version? I'm thinking it would have extra fluid capacity like mine, to keep the fluid cooler under sustained braking.

I got mine from All Dodge in Rancho just east of Sac... its the most organized junk yard I've ever been to. Marvin had just the can off a rig give him a call 916-635-7602
