PSC or AGR pumps..100% increase in steering

Price wise the PSC pump looks good. The PSC high displacement pump also sounds pretty good overall. I'm sure there is another AGR pump that would be closer to the stock set up but I didnt see it, the only one I saw was the rockram which is mainly for rockcrawlers but it looked awesome and would definately do the job. The only drawback is it's a little over $900 bucks.

My question about the PSC is how much difference will 300 PSI at idle make? At idle it flows 4. 7GPM and 1400PSI (1600PSI max at 1100rpm). I guess the stock one flows a little over 2 gallons per minute and 1100PSI. I can't turn my stock tires on dry pavement at a stop right now and I'm moving to 19. 5" wheels and tires which will make my turning at a stop non existant. Will the 300PSI difference be enough for me to turn the 19. 5's reasonably easy?

The PSC pump is $160, they have a reservoir and lines available but I don't think I need them. Anyone know of the AGR pump close to this and it's price? I didnt see it looking over the sight. Any feedback on both pumps is appreciated.

EDIT: I'm frothing at the mouth looking at that rockcrawler settup from AGR it would put my steering worries behind me even with the 19. 5's but 900 bucks!

Anyone at least have comments about the rockram? 100% more assist is pretty nice. Yes I'm trying to justify the cost with encouraging peer pressure :-laf

The $160 for the extra 300psi is all you need, just go with that... . help while I'm vulnerable to persuasion. My wife already told me to get the rockram but I'm trying to be sensible... . maybe :D

There have been some threads on here recently about AGR quality not being what it used to since they were bought out or something like that. PSC seems to be where people are going now. Just did a search for: AGR PSC and got a lot of threads, hope it helps.

Did a little research. The rockram power steering pump only achieves 1500PSI. The kit comes with a new power steering box that has 2 valves which deliver PS fluid to the new stabalizer. This is how they come up with the 100% increase in steering power.

I wonder if this set up can be purchased without the steering pump? Just a thought even though I probably want to get rid of the stock garbage anyway. I'll call and find out tomarrow unless anyone knows already. There seems to be a lack of interest in this topic but if anyone is familiar with this type of set up let me know what your thoughts are please.

PSC - guy who runs it was with AGR at one time, super dude.

AGR - I wouldn't pay them for anything. Quality is way down, they have grown so large within the last 4 years it has cause the product to suffer.

I live in the DFW area where both companies are based. Tom at PSC is who I would want to spend my money with. You cant go wrong when people who are paid to drive choose his setup over the rest for the reliablity and saftey.

definately go with PSC tom is a great guy and top notch product and service. I run the full system (new pump, box, ram) on the comp jeep and could not be happier.

My pump stock pump is slowly failing also, I will replace it with a PSC pump to match the gearbox I installed earlier.

No gripes w PSC here.

I have two good friends that work there!! You are right... . Tom the owner helped start AGR. They have top notch parts. Their quality control is much better than AGR. I have PSC parts on my scout that gets trashed and have never let me down!!!
