Difference between light oil?

My friend recently purchased a 2003 7. 3 PSD. He is wondering about gauges. He already has a stock transmission temp and he would like to geta triple A-pillar. He asked me what other gauge would be good for him to get beside EGT and BOOST. I said "I don't know, maybe a fuel pressure. "

Is fuel pressure a problem for PSD's ??

If he doesn't need a FP gauge than what would you guys recomend for a PSD.

P. S. I tried to get him in to a Cummins but could not get him to look past the body and crew cab of the Superduty:confused:

I did happen to mention to him that if his sender to the stock transmission gauge is in the pan, than he may want to put another transmission gauge in with the sender in the hot lines. He just gave me one of those "why in the he!! would I want to do that" looks.

At least he listned to me on the engine choice. Talked him out of the 6. 0Oo.

I have worked on hundreds of 99+ PSDs, and only had one with a bad fuel pump, and only two with bad fuel pressure regulators. IMO, a fuel pressure gauge is not critical.

And yes, the factory trans temp gauge is bogus, just like the oil pressure gauge.

So he actually needs four gauges, making SPA a perfect candidate. :D If you need tips on where to connect the senders, drop me a PM.
