Guys,

Big Don here. Anyone with a Psychotty Air induction system on a first gen out there???? I think I'd like to try one. What do you guys think???? If it works out maybe we could do a group purchase??? Anyone interested please reply to post. I think I'll be the test mule if no one else has tried it. I think with the rally we've had here on the first gen forum for more power this could be a good item to add. I've heard it lowers EGT's by 100-150 degrees. With the PW and other hi po marine injectors this maybe worth the cash to help cool down all those lovely "classics" you guys own. Ol' Blue asked me for one the other day and I told her I'd check into it. She deserves one.

I posted a similar question a few months ago and was told that the Psycotty system is not considered an upgrade from the stock first gen induction system and a K&N filter. Seems that it is a real good upgrade for the second gen trucks that have a tiny filter but I was told that the K&N used in the Psycotty system doesn't breathe any better than what we have now in our older trucks.

I'm still curious though. Let us know if it helps Ol' Blue.

Scott and I looked at fabbing up a system for the first gen trucks but the system is pretty good as it stands with a huge canister filter that is larger than the one in the Psychotty system. The only upgrade I could think of was to upsize the intake tubing to a larger piece.
Also, getting into the heater cowl would be a bugger without serious hacking and the tubing back to the filter would just heat up the air anyway.
Sorry, but I don't think its worth it at this point. If you really want "Ram" air, maybe a hood scoop over the filter canister in the hood would help!!!
