I have a 2000 QC 2500. I put a three inch body lift on a while ago and it tore the airbox off the fenderwell. I would like to go to a Psycotty system and have done several searches and have ended up with nothing. I would like all useful advice and info on where to get stuff and part numbers if possible. I have seen pictures on here but at the time I wasn't ready to change, I added muffler to 4 in exhaust (due to neighbor complaints) and it really brought my EGT's up. I would like to really get them back down and I think the Psyotty would be best.

Thanks in advance for info.

Psychotty

Hi 425, I had an order with DD, but called them back and spoke with Vivian she said they have none in stock (that was June 13). They gave me the people that make the product in Canada, called them and spoke with a Darsey, he took down my info and said he would have his mom call me back. He said she runs the shop(403-291-9684) They only had 15 left which where suppose to go to DD. Apparently there is a conflict with the contract and they are not producing anymore at this time, so I was told. I have yet to get a call back. I also left a message with Scott of Psychotty (403-850-8737)but have not had a return call from there either. Apparently he is having some medical problems. If anyone out there has any further info on this Psychotty could you please let us know, I would like to get one. Besides someone is already sending me the hole saw, because I thought it was on the way. Does anyone have them in stock? Thanks to all, Dwayne. :D

Thanks for the heads up, I really need to get one becasue I am sucking in all the hot engine compartment air. I already have the hole saw and almost cut my hole in but I am glad I waited.

mediccummin and CT425, try emailing Todd Thorp at -- email address removed -- as he has just started manufacturing an aluminum version of the psychotty that uses the same K&N filter, for about the same price.

Thanks but no luck

Hi 2much 2little, Thanks but no luck there either, talked to him last week and he said he hasn't started production yet. He said he's looking for a shop to produce them for him. But he did say it wouldn't be long, so if no luck with Psychotty maybe I'll wait. Thanks again. Dwayne:cool:

Psychotty available

I have one brand new Psychotty in box available. This is the PSA unit only, without the air filter. If anyone wants it, I will sell it since I am not buying another CTD right away like I was planning. (I intend to wait will the 2003's come out) Email me for price, it will be less than retail. I don't want to list a price here to avoid getting a warning email from the super powers.

scotty system?

i HAD one and i put it it the trash! the thing was so poorly built, the suction from the intake collapsed the housing on my k&n filter it wouldnt let my truck run! also, straight out of the box it was split up the side 2 inches! IMO,i wasted X amount of money on a poorly built product! i'm switching back to the stock air box and going to modify it some way. if you really want a scotty system, buy a K&N air filter, cut a hole in your firewall, and wrap some duct-tape around the filter.

Unlike some of the other members, I have the "Psychotty"

on my 96' Dodge CTD and like it very much! My son gave

me mine for X-mas last year, but ordered it from "Diesel

Dynamics" in Las Vegas, Nevada. It has lowered my

EGT's about 150 degrees from where they were before.

There are other "threads/entries" in the "Products and

Accessories" Archives about the "Psychotty Air Filter. " You

may want to go back and check those too.

Good luck!

RAMHEAD,

Sorry to hear about the disappointing results you had with the PSA. Like John P, I know my EGTs went down 100-150 degrees after installing the PSA and I have been very happy with it. That is why I had ordered another unit even before I got a 2nd truck. But since I decided to postpone the purchase of another CTD until I see what the next generation Rams are like, I decided to sell it for now, expecially since it may not even fit on the 3rd gen. Ram. Some of the problems encountered about it not helping the EGTs were because the air filter was pushed too far forward, thus blocking the air flow from the cowl, although I am NOT saying that was the cause in your case.

Another cause of collapsed filters on a Phscotty is from blocking off the air inlet at the turbo end of the unit. The Phscotty is by far the single best mod I've done to my truck, sad to hear that some folks are having a hard time getting hold of one.

The Psychotty system is the best!!!!! I dropped at least 150 deg EGT. Just as Bill said it will collapse the K&N if you seal off the turbo side. It cost me a second RE-0880 filter. I am hoing the AFE filter will handle it though.

My only other question is: will the stock flex hose from the turbo intake to my new psycotty be long enough? I have that 3 in body lift on there. That is the reason it pulled my stock box off the fender.
