Truck pull in New Haven,VT

Just wanted to see if any TDR members hit the big salmon run!? Im gonna be up there next week, Wensday to Sunday! Stayin up around Altmar!

Last week the Kings were loaded up at the mouth. Not much in the river. I didn't go but my friend did. He caught one cohoe. I haven't gone up there if a few years. Man... ... I wish I could get a couple of days off.

Good Luck,

Tim W.

That what ive been hearin to! Hopefully they get some rain before we go, they are workin on the dam at Osweygo so they cant get the water level up if need be, but we see how things go! I have a new Glommis fly rod and hope to get to use it!

It's true, they have been working on the dam at the resevoir that supplies water for the Salmon River. Oswego has it's own river that is damed no where near the Salmon River though. You should also try the Oswego River it is only a 30 min drive from Pulasky, but it's almost like fishing in a city.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My buddy and I went out into Lake Ontario off of Pt. Breeze in Waterport NY 9/27, he caught a gorgeous Chinook of around 30" or so. We were trolling the mouth of the Oak Orchard River. Of course, we did not have a net, so I had to land this monster out of a 14' boat by the tail! Thank goodness for picture phones!

I'll be there, but not for fishing. I live about 10 minutes from Pulaski. Kinda funny that I've only gone fishing the the river a couple of times, but I go down to Long Island for salt water action about 12 times/year. Was just here last weekend for some decent bluefishing on the North Shore. On Father's Day this past year we put 30 Stiped Bass in the boat in one day. All the fish were between 25 and 31 pounds. That was the best we ever did with Stipers.

Thanks for the reply DZink24. Is there a specific town or spot that is a good place to start? I have heard that there is good fishing for browns near Rodchester, is this the location?

My Nephew and his buddy (21 year old kids) just left for Pulaski, NY about an hour ago. He'll be dressed in black w/ a tan pitbull on a harness.

15 minutes north of Albion NY, on Rte. 98. Trust me, this time of year, you get in to the town of Waterport, ANYONE can give you directions. Or just follow the hoards of anglers with waders and big shiny spoons. You are correct, Rochester is your nearest airport (55 mins to fish). PM me if you have any other Q's

I just got back from a week in Pulaski. . the salmon we up far in the river ie Orwell and Trout brook basically the lower river and middle are finished. . the fish looked pretty fresh though. . I prefer lake fishing late summer for salmon. . they actually bite the river is snag central if you know what I mean.

Lots of tickets.

Yeah when we were there the steelies were all over up at Altmar! Man it was fun... if i cant make it up anymore this year i cant wait for next year!

Hey Warpig how that FMS work for ya? My bro-inlaw has a 00' and is lookin for a box.

We even seen some Florida plates up there, now thats a haul!!

I love the FMS, it gives me loads of fuel. The SMARTY FMS combo works great. I usually go up in April for steelhead. If the river is flowing too much then you fish the creeks.
