We were in the process of a move to South Central Kansas from North East Kansas, when an ice storm dumped on us. Luckily the moving company was from North Dakota, so the truck arrived on time. Unluckily he got stuck in front of my house. After they packed our stuff, they were ready to load the truck (semi with a 54 foot moving trailer). He was still unable to move the truck due to the ice. He asked me if I had a chain... I said sure, but why? He then asked if I thought my Cummins could pull him out! Recently in a snow storm I got stuck trying to pull out a Duramax, so I was a little reluctant to try the Kenworth, pride and curiosity won out and I hooked up to him. After nearly giving up, I got him out and drug him a 1/2 block up a slight grade. The only thing I can attribute my success with the Kenworth over the Duramax was my recently installed Cummins Power decal I got in the mail from the survey we all took!:D I could not be happier with my truck, but my wife is in the doghouse for not taking any pictures with the digital so I could share with you all.

LMFAO:D :D :D :D

My neighbor, who works for Chrysler, told me about this after I bought mine. This exact sceanario was a proving ground test for these trucks.

Pull semi out of ditch: Check!

My wife took this picture while we were disconnection after I pulled the Peterbilt out of the sand he was stuck in at the home construction site next door. The truck driver is the guy in the cap.

Hey that sounds like me. I pulled a Kenworth dumpster truck out of the mud. He was fully loaded with wet drywall and junk from my neighbors house he is remodeling. Hooked up to him with a chain and the old CTD pulled him out. Thank god the transmission didn't blow up though

I pulled a class-8 truck with a 54' box on it with my old S10.

He got stuck trying to go up a hill with only 8k pounds loaded over the drive wheels... . then a road grater came by and dug up all the ice on the road and plowed it under his drive wheels so he couldn't go forward or back.

A cop friend of mine was on the scene and said that there was NO WAY my little S10 would budge that thing. I tried 4-low and just spun my tires... . so I shifted into 4-hi and did the 5000rpm approach.

It took about 5 seconds @ 5000rpm pulling him down the hill over all the ice/snow... but it started to budge and my eyes popped out of my head... . I continued to pull him until he blew the air horns.

It really didn't take much of a pull to move it... I imagine a full-size truck could have done it much easier just from having more mass... It was still pretty amazing, though... for an old beatup 4. 3L powered S10. I had the 6. 5' Fisher plow on the front and about 400 pounds of weight in the bed... that must have helped.

The old 700-R4 lasted about another year and then it let started sticking in 1st gear and loosing reverse when it got hot. :-laf
