Pulled my trailer with a Chevy.

Took my friends 2005' Chevy DuraMax 600miles last weekend. He has the full 4 door cab and my old 95' CTD is not as comfy for 4 adults. He has a lite horse trailer and was expecting 15 mpg pulling mine. He was surprised!! Mine gets 11 to 13 average on the same trip. He struggled at 9 and 10. My trailer is 8ft wide and 13ft high. 11k to 15 k depending on how many horses. His 10 year newer truck is very nice and handled the load fine. I was surprised the mpg's were not any better than that. I do like his transmission and the power was very good. We drove the same speeds i always do and i know the route very well. He had no wind to deal with either. Wind is usually blowing in Iowa but was not an excuse this time. All in all it is a nice rig. Was fun to watch the fuel pump $$ keep going and going after taking his jabs about Dodge all the way down.
