I pulled the 5 speed out of my girl tonight. It was very simple.

Trans goes to standard transmission tomorrow to have the fully splined mainshaft installed.

Looks like the front input shaft bearing was going out. The input shaft was ragged out on the end where the shaft inserts into the pilot bearing, which BTW, was smoked bad.

Flywheel looks ok.

I order the Southbend Con O from Peter Wednesday.

I am going to do the Kevlar bushing or bearing or whatever as well.



I got the transfer case and trans out in less than two hours.

I got the porta power to gently ease the frame rails and rolled the crossmember out like nothing.

The shifter lever popped right out without the special puller too.



Got all the bolts run through the bead blaster and the driveshafts are striped down and ready for new u-joints.

One thing you might find to help when putting it back together is making a plate (held down with orig 2 bolts) with a set screw to go in place of clutch master cylinder to hold bellcrank in place and take no chance of breaking the 'replace as a unit for too much money hydraulic clutch asbly'. Good luck.
