Well either i am having a brain fart or something .
Because my 92 cab died and the suspension wss shot etc and i got a nice 98 , i put the 92 in the 98 V 10 truck that the v 10 blew up .
Because i have a 94 in my crew cab project ,i used the
Fan hub from it and the ac compressor so i could use 134 and i even tried the gen 2 belt tentioner .
Well the belt hits it self on the down word run to the ac compressor , is the belts diffrent , i only have the 92 belt or a size difference in the ac pullys or harmonic balancer pulley ? Anyone have and ideas ? Thermostat housing etc ???

Do you have a diagram of the belt routing? I have found that even with one, I can still try and install it wrong:D

Your issue is mix and match parts.

The fan hubs are totally different from the '92 to the '94, the fan is lower on the 2nd Gen engine.

From the looks of these Cummins drawings they bolt in a different location. I don't know for sure but I think they have the 1st Gen wrong and they bolt in the same place.

Also, the '92 belt w/A/C and Intercooler is an 83 3/4" belt and the '94 is an 81 5/8" belt. The tensioner is the same.

I have not pulled off the fan hub , however i think the fan hub can only bolt on one direction , but it could be the belt its self ?? If there is a length difference ???
I wish i had another belt to check with out spending $ 60 plus for a belt

I thought you said you were running the '92 VP engine with the fan hub, tensioner, and the compressor from the '94, and the belt from the '92. Here's the belt routing:

I'd say the 1st Gen belt is too long and you need to go to the 2nd Gen belt. It's a Gates K080810 and I'd recommend getting the HD version, just add HD to the part number. If it doesn't do the trick, take it back. They shouldn't give you a problem about it as long as it's clean.

If you used the 94 fan and mount then the 92 belt will be too long and the tensioner will push it into the downward drop. The fan mounts lower on all the 2nd gens I believe and will need a different belt.

Ok thanks for the info ,a buddy had a belt but i think it shrunk its oil soaked and been in the sun for who knows how long
